MOVEMENT IS THE MEDIUM. COMMUNITY IS THE MISSION.

The Edit Community brings quality movement programming and wellness education into the spaces where people already gather.

We work with nonprofits and community organizations to make movement more accessible, consistent, and relevant to the people they serve.

WHY WE EXIST.

Great movement shouldn't be limited to people who can access a studio, afford a membership, or already feel comfortable exercising.

Our mission is to expand access to quality movement and wellness education, creating opportunities for people to build strength, develop healthy habits, and connect with their communities.

Alexandra Banks, founder of The Edit Community, teaching Pilates in pink.

Founded by Alexandra Banks, The Edit Community builds on years of Pilates instruction, community programming, and a belief that movement should be both challenging and approachable.

A Balanced Body-certified Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor, Alexandra has experience across studio, corporate, private, and community settings. Her work includes teaching participants of different ages, abilities, and fitness levels, with an emphasis on thoughtful programming and adaptable instruction.

In 2026, she created SALT, a free outdoor Pilates series that generated more than 1,300 registrations across Chicago.

Through The Edit Community, Alexandra brings that experience to partnerships with nonprofits and community organizations, developing structured, engaging movement programs that meet participants where they are without compromising the quality of instruction.
